Sports Update
First up on the FHS sports calendar for 2025 was the swimming carnival.
On Monday of week 4, we prepared to make our annual trip over to Fitzroy Pools. The day began at school where Balam Balam (Red) took the house parade title. Their enthusiasm, outfits and cheer just pushed them over the line. With a range of novelty and competitive events to follow, we made the trek over to the pool.
Special shout-outs to the following students who dominated their events and attended the division finals:
Year 7: Maxie M, Rumi A, Cooper E & Alia A
Year 8: Bennett O & Fox T
Year 10: Anya H & Marlo A
A big congratulations to Maxie who has also qualified for the regional finals, placing 2nd in her 50m Breaststroke event.
Despite these achievements, the big splash competition was the highlight of the day, garnering the most participation as supporters watched on eagerly. Attention now turns to the Athletics carnival which is fast approaching (Week 3, Term 2).
