FHS 2024 Production
Hello and welcome to our next instalment of cast interviews for the FHS 2024 Production! With tickets on sale already, today we will be featuring Margaret F-S and Willow R who, with Isla M, make up our trio of sisters.
Margaret plays Albienne who “is the oldest of the three. She kind of has a bit of responsibility for them, but she’s very feisty and wants to find her own way in the world.” Margaret notes how it is Albienne’s sense of responsibility that drives her: “she started off doing things that brought her happiness like baking and eating, and then when she saw others suffering she felt guilt and saw those actions as selfish, and then at the end she realises she can make herself happy and other people happy.” Initially, Margaret was more interested in playing Beatrix but “auditioned for Albienne because I like the viking scene where she yells at people, and I love yelling roles cause they’re really fun to act out.” When asked for her choice between pancake and waffle, Margaret is strongly in the pancakes with lemon and sugar camp.
Willow finishes our trio of sisters, playing Beatrix who she describes as a “child of the sun. She runs around a lot, she’s very obnoxious and she talks over people, and she loves being outside.” Willow also saw the similarities between Beatrix and herself and this helped convince her to audition: “ I felt like she spoke to me, I felt like she was my friend, like I’d known her or something.” In some ways, it was tough for Willow to audition because “I’ve always wanted to audition for a play and I was too scared too all the other times!” Willow’s bravery in doing the audition paid off and she has been working hard with the rest of the cast to get the mood and the vibe of the play just right. When asked for her choice between pancake and waffle, Willow is a waffle person.
We also want to give a huge shout out to all the people who entered our poster design competition and congratulate the winner, Rosie E. You can see her amazing design adorning posters around the school, as well as on billboards and right here in the newsletter. Thank you Rosie for so beautifully capturing the mood and vision that we have for this production, Clem for helping with the lettering and Jitske for your tireless support.
Finally, please, buy tickets and come and support the hard work and dedication of all of our students! Tickets are available here
