Sports Update
2024’s Division Athletics has just gone by – and what a triumphant day for Fitzroy High School! We had a record breaking 40 qualifying athletes, all of whom were very keen and enthusiastic. The team showed up at the Collingwood athletics track, ready and willing to give the day their best shot. There were students competing in all age groups through events across the board, spirits were high, with a great amount of cheering and support from everyone! Not only that, we were able to bring home the bling, with some sweeping wins! We had Fitzroy students place in multiple events, with the 16 year old girls relay team, and 14 year old boys relay both coming third in their respective age groups, as well as numerous individual places. A huge congratulations to those students who have qualified, and will be going along to Regionals Athletics later this year, and to all those who competed on the day. We had an all out fantastic experience, spent with laughter and good times, being active in the sun. The end of the day there were a few sore muscles, and a bit of tiredness – and a Fitzroy performance to be proud of!
