Production Update

Hello and welcome to the first FHS 2024 Production Update!

We are the Production Extend class and we are the creatives for the school production This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing. We are hoping to give you a behind the scenes glimpse of what we are up to and the work that goes into putting on a Production.

This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing is written by Australian playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer. The play is about three girls and their separate journeys and adventures in life. It is about family and the bonds that can last a lifetime.

At the end of Term 1, auditions were held and casting is now complete. Thank you to everyone who took the time to audition and those who have already volunteered to help out with backstage and technical crew.

In class, each production area has pitched their main design ideas and they have been given feedback by a panel and are now refining and perfecting their ideas and becoming more practical about sourcing materials.

In our next update, we will start introducing our actors and get their insights into their characters.

Art Extend – Old languages – New images

In our year 9/10 Art Extend class students have engaged in a range of collaborative art activities to learn about old and new techniques, processes and visual conventions in artworks so students can develop their own art practice.

Students choose a page from an old science book and are free to underline, cross out one or more sentences and make an image of the emotion contained in the page.

The pages of the book become their own artworks and spark and trigger the imagination. The pages have been displayed together and could become a new book designed by the students.
