Clubs at FHS
The clubs have kicked off and successfully provided a range of activities for student interests at Fitzroy High!
Sara-Jane and the debating team have represented the school at several debates, winning multiple best speaker awards for both the year 9 and year 10 teams!
It’s been a running start for Shannon and his Run Club, meeting out the front of the school every Thursday Blue Week Lunchtime to go for some exercise around the neighbourhood and Edinborough Gardens.
Contrasting this has been Campbell’s Chess Club, who regularly meet in D1.01 every Wednesday lunchtime, and have had a slow start to the year with no tournaments as of yet. They are planning to expand to other games and puzzles in term 2!
We also have an exciting new club coming in term 2, introducing the Oli’s Music Club where students can come along to practice their instruments, rehearse, and produce their own music! This will be running in the music room during Monday Lunchtimes, to fit around our Instrumental Ensemble practices on Tuesday Lunchtimes (Keyboard and Percussion) and Thursdays (lunchtime for Band and before school for Guitar).
