A Message from the Acting Principal
Completion of School Review
Fitzroy High School has successfully completed our 2023 School review. The success of our review was underpinned by high levels of strategic intent and by involving all members in the school community in both the self-evaluation process and the fieldwork day. Thank you to all of the students and parents who participated in focus groups providing their voice. Thank you also to all of the staff who participated and contributed in many important ways. On the final day of the school review, the School Review Panel collaboratively developed the key directions for our new School Strategic Plan. The new School Strategic Plan ensures that the school’s strategic direction to improve student outcomes over the next four years is identified and expressed through the development of goals, targets and improvement strategies based on the evidence gathered throughout the review process.
Year 10 celebration assembly
Thank you to all of our year 10 parents who attended our Year 10 celebration assembly. It was wonderful to celebrate our year 10’s time at this campus as well as to acknowledge and award all of their great academic, artistic, sporting and school spirit achievements. In true Fitzroy High School style we were entertained by amazing music from our year 10 bands! We wish our year 10’s the very best as they transition to our Wurun Senior campus for their final two years of school.
I would also like to congratulate all our students for their personal and academic successes achieved this year at Fitzroy High School.
Fitzroy High School Feminist Collective (Femco) and Italian 9/10 Extend in 2024
In response to student voice, I am pleased to announce that Femco has been resurrected and will run through the year 9-10 Extend (elective) program in 2024. I am also very pleased to announce that Italian will also be offered via the 9-10 Extend program for students wanting to study Italian beyond Year 9.
VIC SRC student of the year
I am very proud to announce that Thomas H in year 10 was awarded Vic Student Representative Council student of the year! Thomas won this prestigious award for making a substantial impact on our school community and amplifying the importance of student voice at Fitzroy High School. Congratulations Thomas!
