SRT Update
Joint Leadership Summit
We had our first 3 Campus Student Leadership event at Collingwood College. Students shared the history of their Student Representative teams, their collective achievements and current challenges.
Malaz, a past Collingwood College student, came and inspired our students with a talk about the skills she developed whilst being a member of the SRC. Our Wurun and Year 10 Leaders at FHS and CC then facilitated group discussions. It was great to walk around and see the students connecting over shared passions and ideas.
We are already looking at ways that we can work together going forward, including looking at a combined training day early in 2024.
Uluru Statement from the Heart Student Forum
A group of SRT members attended this online forum during Week 6. It was fantastic to hear from academics, Uluru Statement Youth Ambassadors, as well as a range of First Nations community members to discuss some of the history and background to the Uluru Statement from the Heart, as well as the Voice to Parliament. One of the key things that came out of this forum is how keen our members are to hear about current politics and broaden our knowledge.
