Year 10 careers excursion at Wurun
On Wednesday Week 1 of Term 2 our Year 10 students along with their peers from Collingwood College continued on their career education journey by taking part in our ‘Straight Talk’ work industry expo at Wurun Senior Campus.
Our students were given the opportunity to have small group in depth round table discussions with a range of different industry experts from a broad set of backgrounds. These included professionals from industries such as engineering, hospitality, construction, logistics, media, finance, marketing, health , art, sports and many more.
As always, our students represented Fitzroy High School to a high standard and were extremely engaged in discussions where they learned about the pathways, skills, qualifications and lifestyles linked to pursuing work in each of the various industries.
Big thanks to The Smith Family’s Growing Careers Project who assisted us in the organising and running of this wonderful event.
This is one of many events and learning opportunities we have in place at Fitzroy High School to support our Year 10 students in making informed decisions around their senior school pathways and subject selections which will occur later this year.
