Engineering Challenge
Students at Fitzroy High School have begun their new rotations in cross-year-level Excel (XL) classes in different specialized subjects. An Engineering Challenge class is one of the subjects offered at Fitzroy High School this term. In the Engineering Challenge XL, students have been applying the engineering design process to various challenges; collaborating with their peers and coming up with various solutions to different problems.
The engineering design process emphasizes open-ended problem solving and encourages students to develop multiple solutions, test their prototypes and to learn from their mistakes. This class nurtures creativity and innovative problem solving, equipping students with the ability to create innovative solutions to challenges in any other subject as well.
