Engage in 2025
Starting in Term 2, Fitzroy High School introduced a specialised program for a group of Year 8 students. The program was called Engage, and it aimed to reinforce, complement, and extend the range of physical, social, and emotional development initiatives across the school.
Participants met every Friday, Session 3, over 10 weeks. Many sessions involved a mix of collaborative activities and group discussions designed to foster safe, healthy, and connected relationships. The program also featured physically demanding excursions such as rock climbing, hiking, and surfing—all intended to challenge and push participants out of their comfort zones.
A big thank you to Linda Mitchell, who provided resources for delivering the program. Additionally, huge gratitude goes to Thuy Linh and Shannon, who enthusiastically assisted with our excursions. Lastly, a massive thanks to the students who participated in the program — it was a pleasure getting to know you all.
