Winter Sports Update
Athletics
First up on the sporting calendar for Term 2 was our 2025 FHS Athletics Carnival. After a beautiful day out at the Collingwood athletics track, Muk Muk completed a stunning turn around from the swimming carnival, taking out 1st place with 465 points. They were followed by Balam Balam (401 points), Marram (377 points) and then Gawarn (346 points). Special shout out to Bennett O who finished 1st place in the 1500m race at the division finals and has qualified for the NMR finals.
Cross Country
We also had some success in the cross country events, with 4 out of our 16 students finishing in the top 10 at the division finals. Arnoud B and Melmo H should be commended for their efforts in representing the school at the NMR event, which took place at the Kilmore racetrack. They were joined by Senior students Ella L, Murray H and Ben H. Melmo finished the race in 3rd with a PB of 10:08, qualifying for state.
Lawn Bowls
A big congratulations to our Lawn Bowls team who, once again, beat out the other schools in the region to qualify for the state championship. In their final year, Eridani, Chloe and Jackson unfortunately lost in the final but should be extremely proud of their efforts in lawn bowls over the years.
