March Sports Update

During the month of March, our students participated in their first inter school sports days of the year. They had the option to choose between the sports of Volleyball, Tennis and Cricket, and then spent the early weeks of the term training in preparation for their tournament day.

Junior (7/8)

The Year 7s embarked on their first sports excursion of the year, and we were all impressed by the attendance and effort shown from these students throughout the day. The volleyball team returned home with 1 win and the cricket and tennis groups enjoyed a lovely day away from school.

After participating in “social” volleyball last year, our current Year 8s decided to take the step up to “competitive” and walked away with a record of 2 wins and 2 losses – a great improvement! The social cricket group also enjoyed the sunny trip to Princes Park, highlighted by their well-earned slurpees on the way home.

Intermediate (9/10)

The Year 9/10 students will be competing on Monday during Week 9 – stay tuned for more details.

Wurun (11/12)

The Senior Boys Volleyball team smashed their rivals in the division volleyball competition during Week 4, and therefore moved to the next level: regional finals. Accompanied by Principal Chris Millard, the boys made the trip out to Greensborough and unfortunately finished 3rd in their group. However the competition was played with great spirit and high quality and our boys should be very proud!
