PLAYBACK: Save the Speigletent

Take a journey with us back in time, reliving the best moments of the last 100 years of the Melba Spiegeltent.

Playback: Save the Spiegeltent is the story of three sisters’ efforts to save the iconic venue from being demolished and developed into apartments. Employing help from the dazzling, dramatic and energetic acts of the past, the sisters present a fundraising concert with the hopes of buying out the developer…their long lost brother. Third campus for Fitzroy High School and Collingwood College Senior Secondary Partnership

As previously announced, the 2018-19 State Budget has allocated funds to plan for a new senior secondary campus to be shared by Collingwood College and Fitzroy High School on the Fitzroy Gasworks site.

The campus will build on the successful Senior Secondary Partnership that has beenrunning for nearly a decade between our dynamic inner city state schools.

This site offers a key opportunity to enhance well integrated secondary education provisionin the City of Yarra.

We will continue to report any further developments to the school community as they occur.

Please note that the information evening will be on the separate date of the 19th of April, the evening prior to Open Day.  At this session we will provide more detailed information on our school, philosophy and approach. This session is specifically for prospective 2019 Year 7 students and their families.

School Tours

The tour will include classroom visits to see our teaching and learning in action. Most importantly, you will get a sense of the culture and feel of the school to help you determine if our school is the right fit for your child.

Please note that due to overwhelming demand, all tours from February through to April will be reserved for year 6 families as a priority. If you wish to attend a tour and you/your student are already attending high school, please contact the office and request to speak with our Leadership Facilitator, Abbey. Please note that the installation is situated in an area that is not wheelchair accessible and that the audience is required to crawl through some parts of the installation. The total experience takes half an hour and is suitable for up to four people at any one time.

We invite you to explore this wonderful and unique installation that will give you an insight into the ideas of balance and curiosity.

The Human Condition is a student created, run and produced installation that explores the ideas of who we are. Our team have been given the opportunity to work with a range of artists in order to create multiple representations of common questions and insecurities. As an audience member you will be required to open your mind and explore the complexity of the human mind.

This project is a way for the students of Fitzroy High School to explore and create. The balance of curiosity is an original theme that the students came up with that they could work with in any way that they chose. In this limited time installation the students have worked together to create several different experiences with the help and support of other students, creators and teachers.
